Today is grooming day for the cavaliers. I hope I don't get the cold shoulder when I pick them up.
Curt has a service man coming to the trailer this afternoon. Someone left the pump running with no water in the tank. Oopps. We'll head in for a walk around The Villages - a grouping of stores which offer entertainment every night. The weather is cloudy but no rain. A high in the 70's.

Rain again, although it starts and stops. Curt decided to find a chrysler dealer for an oil change and I stayed behind with Sully and Bro. A lazy morning and while walking met a camper with a very well groomed dog. Worth a try and have cavaliers booked for a wash/cut tomorrow. Hmmm, at least there is a couple of weeks to grow in before we hit the cool Canadian winter again.

Rain, rain, rain is the forecast for the next couple of days. Taking a drive back into the small town of Bellevieu we found the Petsmart and bought a new fluffy dog bed for Jocur. Our stomachs said it was time for lunch/dinner and we decided the Perkins was worth a try - and it was a good choice.
Temperature is warm and a little humid.

We slept through a nigh of rain and woke to a chilly morning. Heading out later that we planned we drove the scenic route over to LGST. A small park with great sites and most would accommodate our trailer.

Florida 2012
Friday February 24, 2012
Since our check-out time is 1pm, we didn't need to rush our getaway. However lets not wait too long as its getting warm! Close to 80 today. On the road to Cedar Key RV park. We arrived 5 minutes after closing, only to find we are a week early! What ! Oh no problem in finding a site, as a new campground there are lots to choose from. But we are suppose to be at Lake Griffin State Park. Ok, change in plans only in that we will head to LGSP tomorrow and arrive a day late. Oh and did I mention Curt lost his sunglasses. So this is turning into a vacation to learn from.
Although we are only staying the night, this park is very nice and we are looking forward to returning for our reserved week. On a side note, the park hosts are new and do not have our reservation. The old hosts never did write anything down.

Further into the park there is the Outback pavillion and they offer guided tour by air-boat. We decided to go for the first tour at 10am when it would be cooler. Out on the lake, with the gators and pelicans, osprey we heard of their habits and historical information of the Myakka River. The Canopy Nature Walk was our second adventure with the dogs, a cool walk of only 40minutes beneath, what else, a canopy of trees and their leaves creating shade the entire time.

Early sitting outside with a coffee in my pj's with no coat. This is what we came for. Now, what shopping can we find in Sarasota? A relatively short drive and we found the Lowes and further into the downtown area. Historic Sarasota has some unique little shops a of course I just had to go into The Wet Nose. Although I could spend lots of $$, I resisted. A small corner restaurant where they encourage Doggie Dinning (although we didn't have them with us), was the choice for lunch. Temperature is in the high 70's, breezy and not a cloud in the sky.

No problem finding the park. A little early we waited in the 'holding' area until our site was available. Not a long wait, and we were setup by dinner. Our site - #60 is next to a marshy area and there are Aligator signs - Aligators are in all waters in the park. Hmmm, better keep the dogs close to us at all times. We are camping in a new campground within the park and all the sites are pull-thru (except 2, and guess which one we got).

Continuing our drive on I75 our GPS kept us on the right path to the sunny south. We've been listening to The Litigators - an audio of the book. At first I found it a little distracting, but after a couple of chapters the plot starts to sink in. Driving is good, weather getting better. We've decided to park in a Wal-Mart, get our groceries and be ready for arrival at Myakka State Park.
Sunday February 19, 2012
Only 10 minutes into the drive and realized my little night bag of hair products was still sitting at the breakfast bar. Turn around, back to the hotel and started the day at now 10:30am. Travelling thru Kentucy, we had HUGE flakes of snow and our speed was dramatically reduced. Probably lost a good 2 hours in distance. Our night was in Tennessee a decent room. However this is where a left my pj's hanging on the back of the bathroom door. It wasn't until getting ready for bed the next night did I realize! No going back for this little gem..
Saturday February 18, 2012
On the road and the vacation has started at 8:20am. Heading down the 401 and across the border to the US we made good time and started to look for a place to stay. So the first choice wasn't such a good one as we left there at 10:30pm to find accommodations of a higher caliber. Don't ask about the 3point turn we had to perfect in a little model home parking lot. But a good nights sleep, a breakfast bar in the lobby and we headed off at 10:00am.

We're not going anywhere today! A simple kiss for our anniversary and its the flu for Jo-Anne - thanks Curt!.
